Before becoming a plastic surgeon he lectured anatomy to pre- and postgraduate students. His thorough knowledge of this subject opened the door for him to develop innovative surgical procedures culminating in awards given by local and overseas plastic surgery societies.

"The Journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery", which is the official mouthpiece of the American Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery awarded him with the prize for the best special topic paper for the year 2016. This journal is the most highly cited journal in the world for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

Due to his background the surgical techniques he uses in his operations are based on sound anatomical principles resulting in safe surgery with excellent results.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Upper eyelids

Excessive skin of the upper eye lids can effectively be removed under local anaesthesia.

In some patients bulges in the inside corners of the upper eye lids caused by excessive fat can be treated by removing it simultaneously

FACIAL REJUVENATION

Facial rejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment (or series of cosmetic treatments), which aims to restore a youthful appearance to the human face. Facial rejuvenation can be achieved through either surgical and/or non-surgical options. Procedures can vary in invasiveness and depth of treatment.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Lower eye lids

Puffy lower eyelids are caused by accumulation of extra fat in three different compartments and should preferably be treated under general anaesthesia.

Removal of excessive skin from the lower eye lids should be done with caution to prevent recessive exposure of the eye globe. (Scleral show / ectropion)

Lower Face and neck lift

Facial creases and jowls can be treated by excising excessive skin only. However the success of this procedure relies on the quality of the skin and patient with poor skin quality may not have long lasting results.

A better option is to elevate the SMAS (Superficial musculoaponeurotic system) which is a sheet of interconnected facial muscles. Tightening this muscle sheet, instead of the skin, a better long lasting result can be obtained. (SMAS plication)

The neck can be tightened by elevating and supporting the platysma muscle in front of the ear and in the midline in front with stitches.

Upper face and brow lift

The best results is obtained by excising the muscles causing the frown lines between the eye brows giving a permanent long term result.

Lipo filing

Aging of the face is also reflected as a loss of fatty tissue.

By adding fat grafts taken from the patient’s tummy, the facelift can be enhanced to a great extent. The graft introduce stem cells as well which rejuvenates the skin.

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Excessive skin, stretch marks and lower abdominal fat can effectively be removed with this procedure. Overweight patients should lose weight before the operation to obtain the best result.

Labial reduction

This procedure can be done under local or general anaesthesia with satisfactory results.

Lipo suction

This procedure give the best results in patients with localized fatty deposits. Areas that can be treated effectively are the hips, inside thighs, inside knees and ankles. Lipo suction can also be used to treat a double chin.

Breast Augmentation

Also referred to as augmentation mamaplasty or "boob job". This procedure increase the fullness and projection of the breasts, enhance self-image and self confidence.

Silicone gell or saline filled prostheses are used.

A normal breast size is approximately 300 cc and using prosthesis larger than that must be done with caution.

Breast lift

Breast lift or mastectomy entails removing excessive skin to reshape and support the breast. a Pleasing contour rejuvenates the patients figure with a youthfull breast profile.

However the results may be temporary if the skin stretches again. If the internal bra procedure (with mesh) is performed an excellent and long lasting result can be obtained. Breast Reduction

Breast reduction or reduction mamaplasty entails the removal of excessive tissues in the enlarged breast to relieve the patient from associated symptoms and discomfort creating an aesthetically pleasing breast

Otoplasty (correcting bat ear deformity)

In children his procedure can be performed when the development of the ear is almost complete. Usually at the age of 5 years. The scar is hidden behind the ear and non-absorbable sutures are used to reshape the ear after weakening the cartilage. A head bandage should be worn for a week after the operation.
